Conflict Mediation
Mediation is a process in which a neutral person or persons facilitate communication and negotiations between parties to assist them in reaching a mutually acceptable agreement, or a better understanding of each participant’s interests, needs, values, and options.
Cathy’s process expertise and innate ability to understand varying perspectives, plus an opportunity to consider options outside of the box empower results.
To
better serve your civil mediation needs, Cathy draws on experience in
Management, Real Estate, Business Ownership, Not-for-profits, Business
Development, Sales, Public Relations, Firefighting, and Accounting. For family and divorce cases, Cathy offers expertise developed as a credit counselor, facilitating support groups for children of divorce, experience in domestic violence, and volunteering as Board Chair of Parents Helping Parents.
As a Mediator, Cathy Liska has served as the mediator for her local municipal court, as the Executive Director of a statewide Academy of Mediators and Arbitrators, as a Board Chair of a Not-for-Profit Mediation Organization, and as the only bilingual mediator on a federal court roster of mediators. Cathy has developed and conducted approved training of mediators.
High-conflict cases can result in agreements.
A
mediation conference can be scheduled quickly. Mediation begins with a
discussion of the situation, followed by the mediator working with the
disputants, both together and separately, if appropriate, to resolve
concerns. Perhaps most important, mediation works!
